The Agent 199 Manifesto

I've been having a hard time focusing lately. There are so many things that I want to do, but I can't seem to organize in a very efficient way. I'm probably doing too much, and I should probably let a few things go, but I'm not sure I can actually do that.

I need to prioritize. If I want to create something of worth, I'll have to spend more time on it. I have 3 or 4 different projects that I have running through my head right now that haven't come to fruition, and it's because I haven't dedicated myself to them- and all the while, time slips by.

I have to make writing the number one priority in my life. I need this figured out by the end of this month. Or perhaps, by tomorrow. I need to derive some type of pleasure from it that allows me to not care about going out. I'm such an extrovert, it feels weird to even consider not going out, but if I don't stop, nothing will get done. There's only so much "in the field" research I can do, so that's no longer an excuse. Plus, I need to start saving money anyway, so let's develop some ground rules.

Going out(Dinner/happy hour/bars):
No more than twice a week

Television: No more than 2 hours a day

Reading: At least an hour a day

Writing: At least an hour a day, no limit

Facebook: disabling my wall, can only be used for messaging. NO status updates.

Bedtime: On non-going out nights, bed time is 1:30 AM. Sharp.

Rising: 8:00 AM at the latest. I would suggest 6:00. It's the only way to get any writing done.

I will note my progress on this blog at least every other day. This will be my only outlet to the outside world.

This can be done.

There are a few other issues I'm dealing with. I'd like to shed a few pounds, and also be a bit healthier in general, so I feel like there are some changes in diet that I'm going to have to adhere to. I feel like if I record this here, it will help me in actually sticking with it. Here goes:

Whiskey: No more than once a week

No beer.

No bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cheese, or red meat.

Emphasize turkey, chicken, and fish.

Dark green, leafy vegetables everyday.

An apple at least every other day.

Prunes.

No sweets.

One day a week, these rules may be broken. Except for the beer part.

Exercise 4 times a week, or at the least, every other day.

Emphasize yoga, pilates, swimming, and running.

Tomorrow is Day One. With any luck, I'll reach my goal by my birthday. It's a total of 21 pounds. My goal is to be 199. I think it's completely possible. When I reach the goal, I can begin the process of writing my first action-comedy script, titled Agent 199.

Let the transformation begin.

Rededication?

Okay this post is a little overdue, considering that I previously said I'd be writing something here every other day, or something like that... I never have been great at keeping deadlines or sticking to a schedule. I will absolutely have to get better at that. The good thing is that I've figured out how to post articles from my phone so that's cool. Anyway, I can't stay long because I am at work. I would like to announce a few articles that are coming soon. First, that state of the industry article that i promised like 6 months ago is almost ready. In addition, I have another article on the 4 major improv groups in Los Angeles. I will be comparing the Groundlings, UCB, IOWest, and Second City, and if you are familiar withe world of Harry Potter, I will match these 4 schools to the 4 houses at Hogwarts. Should make for interesting reading, at the very least. Well, that's all for now.
